This session is what we'd consider the epitome of a Minnesota summer day! It also just so happens to capture the essence of Mallary & Steve's typical summer rendezvous during any free weekend they may find for themselves: at their cabin, cocktail in hand, Bonzer pup at their sides, and celebrating all the good things in life.
Steve is the (very patient) man who helped Aaron and I search for our first home for 3 years. 3. YEARS. He has a passion for all things classic and we had a dream of our ideal home - and he helped us pull the trigger on the perfect house for our vision! Now I get to return the favor by living out my passion for capturing couples exactly as they are (and exercising my own patience while Steve took his time obsessively cleaning his boat before our session ;) ), and I can easily say this evening was a highlight of my summer. These two are incredible individuals who come together through thick and thin to make a stellar team. Mallary & Steve: thank you for being who you are, unashamedly. Thank you for letting your laughter come freely and for giving me this opportunity to capture you at one of your favorite places!
(p.s. to all you readers... That house we found?! I'm hoping to share photos of our half-year-long kitchen renovation in the near future... so stay tuned!)
I laugh a lot with my job. I get to photograph awesome people who make me giggle consistently. But these two, they made me laugh so much that I developed a twitch in my cheek and got an ab workout during our session and I love them so much for it!! They are comfortable in their skin and even more comfortable in each other's arms - and it makes my job incredibly enjoyable. I'm counting down the days until I can have Ashley & Dakotah in front of my camera again on their wedding day... May of 2018 can't come soon enough!!
When my husband and I got married almost 5 years ago, we moved to Minneapolis into the most charming four-unit apartment building by Lake Nokomis. In the craziness of our moving in, amid boxes everywhere and wet paint on the walls, the sweetest girl with an equally sweet (freshly-made) loaf of banana bread knocked on our door to extend a welcome to the building. Her bright smile alongside the cutest neighborly gesture is something I've always been grateful for, and Mandy immediately made my hubby and I feel even more excited about moving to the "Big City". Since then, we had the pleasure of getting to know her and her fiance John - together they make one of the kindest and most adventurous couples I know. They have since moved to North Dakota and I couldn't be more thrilled that I get to travel to the U.S./Canadian border this fall for what is sure to be one of the most welcoming and fun weddings I've ever photographed! Their day can't come soon enough - but until then, check out how sweet these two are; especially making music together. Some of my favorite images I've ever taken!! :)
If you are: super chill, awesomely stylish, and love to giggle your hearts out - you might be my perfect client. Enter these two cuties who fit that bill perfectly!! It was a stunning evening in this beautiful city of ours with the most incredible golden light flooding the streets of St. Anthony Main. Lindsey & Tad flirted the night away and their superstar pup, Leopold, added an extra dash of charm that took the cuteness level of their session off the charts. Now to wait until I can photograph them again on their NYE wedding day... 😍
