Chelsea (a.k.a. 'Fitzy' forever in my mind) was a good friend of mine back in my glorious gymnastics days. We'd spend 4+ days a week giggling, tumbling, and learning insane skills alongside our awesome teammates. It was an incredibly huge part of my life, and those girls I spent all that time with will always mean a lot to me and my childhood. When Fitzy reached out to me about photographing her winter wedding in Stillwater, I danced in my chair and and got crazy excited at the chance to see her again after all these years. Spending time with her and Eric (and of course, their pup Silvia) was a blast, and I love seeing the love and comfort that my old friends have found in their adult lives - my job is quite literally the coolest!! I'm SO excited for these two and even more excited that I get to spend this time with them and capture their relationship! These two are super cute, so prepare for your cheeks to hurt after browsing their engagement sesh! :)
If I had the power to make the weather do my bidding (which, believe me, as a photographer I wish this every single day), I would have made this winter engagement session look EXACTLY like this!! A fresh and fluffy snowfall that piles onto the branches of trees, the lightest flakes falling during photos, and not even the slightest breeze to make it feel even colder than it already was... this winter session was perfection. Spending time with this fabulous pair of people brings it to another level -- I had the pleasure of photographing their proposal late last fall and now I get to follow their journey into marriage while capturing all the best moments in between!! Their engagement photos are a new favorite of mine and topping it all off with drinks and desserts at The Copper Hen was the blueberry on top of a perfect bacon cupcake. See for yourself! :)
Amber & Scott: the Queen and King of engagement session locations. When Amber mentioned to me that they'd love for me to come down to southern MN where they have a family farm and a favorite local winery for their engagement photos, I was hooked on the idea. What they failed to mention was that it would be even better than I had imagined and that I'd feel like I was in photographer heaven the entire time!! Not only were Four Daughters Vineyard & Winery and their family farm absolute perfection for my photog self, but Amber and Scott made my job a bit too easy with their comfort and ease of being in each others' presence. Talk about LOVE.
I love this session, and more importantly I love this couple - and to say that I am looking forward to their wedding next summer is putting it far too lightly. It can't come soon enough!!
Talk about a cool location for a cool couple! Amber & John fit the city life well and this stunning little island in St. Paul provided just the right spaces for us to use to capture their love and lifestyle. I've gotten to know these two through a couple of my past brides & grooms (I'm lookin' at you awesome people, McDonagh's and Cardinal's!!) and I couldn't be more thrilled to be the lucky one to photograph their wedding this fall! It's sure to be a stunner and they'll even share an anniversary with my hubby and myself! :) Can't WAIT!
I truly couldn't have asked for a more beautiful night with this sweet couple!! That golden light makes me swoon -- add in one of my favorite locations and a stunning couple and I am totally in love!! Luckily, I don't have to wait too long to photograph these two again because their wedding is less than TWO weeks!! For now, you'll have to be content with seeing Erica in this gorgeous white dress until the real one comes into play!! :)
Holy cow I love this session!! Spring trees were in full bloom, Chelsie & Mike were so easy and so natural to work with, and we had the most beautiful evening with stunning colors that resulted in this drop-dead-gorgeous engagement session. The laughter was abundant and I'm already anxious to have their wedding come around this fall to experience it all again with them!!
