I emailed with, met with, and photographed Amanda & Johnny's wedding all in the span of ONE week. I'm so used to getting to know my couples over the span of a year or so that there is a part of me that is sad that my time working with these two with their wedding is already done... but at the same time, my experience working with them was so full of fun and love that I feel completely fulfilled and lucky to have gotten the chance to capture them together! I spent a mere two hours with them, photographing their beautifully intimate ceremony at Vivo Kitchen in Apple Valley surrounded by family and friends and carefully guarded by their sweet little Lucy (side note, grab a tissue for the photos of Johnny's vows to Lucy. You'll need it.), followed by an AMAZING extended bride & groom portrait session. A&J are total goofballs that I can't get enough of (pay attention as you scroll through these photos... I guarantee that you'll burst out laughing with this couple) and I'm so happy to get to call them a part of my clientele!!
Oh, where do I even begin?! The barn venue... the homemade details... the DQ desserts... the delicious hot dog cart?!?! How about the FABULOUS couple that threw all of this sweet stuff together and came out with one of the most awesome and down-to-earth wedding days I've seen in some time!! Gosh, I'm so in love with Whitney, Nick, and their wedding day! Take your time scrolling through this post. Their wedding is guaranteed to put a huge smile on your face!! Don't even get me started on the smooch that Nick sweetly snuck onto Whitney's hand as they exited their ceremony as husband and wife!! <3 Her smile says it all.
Oh, how I love a summer wedding!! I cannot believe how quickly this summer has been flying by -- I only have a couple of "summer" weddings left, and then a glorious Fall full of more beautiful wedding days. How can it possibly be that my 2014 wedding season is half over?! To celebrate the half-way mark, I am sharing one of my favorite weddings from this summer (so far!). Kara & Ben were so amazing to work with, they had their wedding based at a berry farm (I mean COME ON), and I was able to have multiple opportunities to take the two of them away for portraits on one of the most beautiful days that June had to offer. This explains the crazy abundance of bride & groom photos in this post... so I am sorry (not sorry) but I could NOT narrow it down any less! Take a peek into their day, and soak in that beautiful sun and insanely photogenic bride & groom:
A backyard soirée, done to a 'T'. Emily and Colin did not overlook the slightest of details for their wedding day, and family and friends made sure the entire day would go off without a hitch -- except for the two getting hitched, of course! From the salvaged church pews that guests were seated in, the arbor made of tree trunks for their ceremony altar, the irresistible dessert table, to the handmade (by Emily's DAD!) farmhouse tables for the reception, this wedding was a gorgeous sight to behold. Top that off with a perfectly in love couple and eager, happy guests.... their day was nothing short of perfection. And I am SO blessed to be the one who got to capture every detail!! This is one of my favorites, to date. I hope you all enjoy this crazy beautiful wedding day!
What can I say? It's such a privilege to be able to capture weddings in the family. So when Brittany (a fellow [now former] Esterling girl) asked me if I would be able to photograph her upcoming wedding, I was SO HAPPY to do so! So the hubs and I packed up and headed out on the 7 hour drive to Peoria, IL to capture Brittany and Alex's gorgeous wedding day. A few of my favorite things from their day:
- Bridal party attire! Alex rocked a pair of grey vans, the bridesmaids wore incredibly cute grey and coral lace dresses, and the beautiful bride nixed wearing a veil and went for an incredibly awesome beaded headband instead! -- I love when couples aren't afraid of letting their personalities shine through in fun ways!! - Even through the hurricane-force winds that we were working with for photos, everyone was laughing and having a good time. It's just the best when the little things that "go wrong" don't matter and everyone is just joyous and excited to be there for the occasion! - All the guys in the wedding party surrounded Brittany during the reception and sang "My Girl" to her. It was the best. See photo below for proof! :) - Also, Brittany's beaming smile as she walked down the aisle. Gets me every time!!
This wedding holds a special place in my heart. It was a beautifully emotional day, an insanely gorgeous venue, and a bride & groom who have a love that is so wonderful to watch. Plus, they know how to throw a party!! :) Abby was a seriously stunning bride, and I may or may not have caught Jake shedding a tear at the sight of her. I cannot confirm or deny that statement... but his love for her sure makes me melt! Couples in love are what I live for and these two gave me NO shortage of that!
Abby & Jake, thank you for allowing me to witness these moments. To everyone enjoying their photos -- I hope you can feel all the wonderful emotions of their day. Enjoy!
